Year of Club Founding: The Deutscher Club für Leonberger Hunde was founded in Leonberg on June 10, 1948. The DCLH is the eleventh incarnation of a national Leonberger club in Germany with the first being founded in 1891.

Breeding Policy: The breeding regulations of the DCLH were decided by the general assembly in 1992. Only small changes have been made since then. Next year the DCLH is considering a new special breeding examination (ZTP).
