Aggie

Aggie is one of the original Agile Leos, owned by Norm and Bonnie Goodfriend

Aggie's agility career was brief but memorable. People still talk about the run she did with Avery in Strategic Pairs, which has come to be known as "Strategic Pandemonium". I have it on video and it still makes me laugh. The run was supposed to be a max of 90 seconds and 4 minutes later Norm and I were still out there because everyone was having so much fun watching the two of them (and us) that they wouldn't let the timer blow the whistle. At one point there were two Leos going in opposite directions through the tunnel, and another where they were BOTH on the teeter/totter...you get the picture. They were having a blast running amok. It was one step away from totally out of control but it was obvious that they knew how to do the equipment, they just wanted to do the course their way. It was a good lesson in why one should never try to run giant siblings in the same ring at the same time.

Aggie's idea of a good run was how much the crowd laughed and she was one of the best I have ever seen at comedic agility. She did weave poles faster then any giant I have ever seen but she hated to jump. When arguing with her over jumping became a major issue she was retired from competition. We tried to bring her back when she turned 7 because she would only have to jump 16" in NADAC. She walked up to the start line with this shocked look on her face (I know she was thinking "You've got to be kidding me!") did the first couple of obstacles and ran back to the tent. She liked the fact that it got a big laugh. I really had to put my ego on hold when I ran her!
